So the sky has finally opened up and Vancouver is now gray and wet. This doesn’t help with the midterms and impending finals breathing down our necks, so what to do?
Trying to find an interesting thing to do to keep your mind active and refreshed is hard, but if you’re reading this blog, you’re already interested in what I am about to suggest. Dance! This coming weekend we have an awesome Dance Club event planned: Team Match! Nothing like reliving the tunes of the 90s, watching some crazy antics, amazing demo couples dazzling us with their steps, and dare I say it…the lure of prizes for attendees?
Team Match is one of the best events of the Dance Club year, next to UBC Gala Ball – I know, I know, I have to plug this in somehow, and obviously I am shamelessly inserting it wherever I can. However, Team Match is one of those events where you’ll make some of the best friends, and see some of the best dancers in BC show off their stuff, just for you! So if you’re not already in a team, do make time to come and watch, I guarantee you’ll have a lot of fun and you’ll remember it for a long time afterward.
Right after that comes another Dance Club tradition: Holiday Ball! Just another opportunity to enjoy the free time before exams kick in. Lots of good fun, games, dancing, meeting new friends and hanging out with old ones. Most of all, it’s getting a head start on the Christmas Season before everyone else!
If you’re still looking for something to do, perhaps you’ll have found a partner to practice with and you may toy with the idea of competition. If that scratches your itch, you’re in luck! I have very reliable news that we have two competitions coming in the new year. More news on that to come at Team Match, so now you’ll have to come and watch to see what I’m talking about!
