Well, maybe they won’t be your TOP choice of costumes this year. But they would definitely stand out amongst those standard snow white and pirate costumes. Wearing one of these costumes will show that you are up-to-date with the main-stream media world and perhaps even some-what sophisticated.
No. 5 Macklemore
Yes that’s right—it’s time to start shopping at those Thrift Shops. Find an oversized faux-fur coat, sip on a slurpee, and you are good to go!
Pros: cheap, easy, can’t go wrong
Cons: people might think you smell like “R Kelly’s Sheets” and keep a distance away from you
No. 4 Chinese Food
The song is hard to watch and annoying, hence why it would be funny to dress the part. If you haven’t seen the horrendous music video, I suggest you do not look it up…
Pros: the little take-out box is so cute!
Cons: is this border line racist?
No. 3 The Fox
And yet another viral YouTube video. This catchy little song and dance would set the perfect stage for a fun costume!
Pros: warm and fuzzy in the cold weather
Cons: all foxy costumes are currently out-of-stock in store and online due to popular demand… boooooooo I wanted this one.
No. 2 Robin Thicke/Miley Cyrus
Who doesn’t enjoy a little scandal revolving the VMAs every year? This year the story is so perfectly set up for a little bit of Halloween parody fun.
P.S. Don’t forget to stick your tongue out in photos!
Pros: It would make a memorable costume for sure.
Cons: I can foresee that a lot of couples are going to dress up like them. You don’t want to go home with the wrong RT or MC.
No.1 Government Shutdown
Political Science is not my major and I do not know much about the US government. However, this costume would be hilarious to wear regardless.
Pros: very current; allow you to express your sense of humour; everybody will get it
Cons: some people might be offended, you never know!
Signing off with style,
