UBC Gala Ball is almost here! It is taking place
March 9th and 10th at the
Grand Ballroom in
Richmond. If you are competing or want to watch, tickets are on sale now at the Dance Club office and also at the door. It will be our most exciting event this year and we highly encourage everyone to attend, whether competing or not!
The weekend after Gala Ball,
March 16th, will be our
Annual General Meeting. If you want to run for an executive position next year, clear your calendar for the 16th and sign up outside our office door!

Level Evaluations
Members who wish to move up a level in UBC Dance Club next year will be required to perform the dances learned throughout the year for a short evaluation! Stay tuned – more information to come! Evaluations will take place at the end of March.
Island Fantasy Ball Discount for UBCDC Members
The 2013 Island Fantasy Ball is on April 20-21 in Nanaimo, BC and we have special prices for UBC Dance Club members!
- Full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) admission with full buffet dinner on Saturday evening for $50
- Full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) admission without dinner for $25
This discount is available to current UBCDC members who are also full-time students. Confirmation and payment must be received by March 15th, 2013. Annual General Meeting
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) this year will be on Saturday, March 16th all day in the SUB Council Chambers. If you are interested in joining the executive for next year, please consider running for an executive position. All UBCDC Members are welcome to attend (please note that only current AMS members and UBCDC members have voting privileges) and vote for the executives next year. More details about nominations to come!
Calling for Honorary Member Nominations
An honorary member of the UBC Dance Club is recognized as an individual who is recognized for their outstanding services and/or monetary contributions to the club. As well, they are distinguished by their continued service to the organization even after leaving. You may nominate someone who is still currently in the UBC Dance Club, as long as they have clearly demonstrated going far above and beyond their responsibilities as part of the Club. A list of our current Honorary Members can be found
here.
You may fill out the nomination form with another individual if you are unaware of some of the answers below. We ask that you please be as thorough as possible, so that the Executives have a better understanding of why someone deserves this distinguished title. As well, please do not assume that the Executives know the individual you are nominating.
