Day 7

Slow Foxtrot

Routine

  • Feather Step
  • Reverse Turn (and Feather Finish)
  • Three Step
  • Natural Turn (and Hesitation)

Reverse Turn

  • Leads move through the Follow on Step 2 (Right foot constant circle)
  • Follows Heel Turn get out of the way on Step 1

Feather Finish

  • Last Step Outside Partner in CBMP while body turns less

Three Step

  • Slight Rotational Swing to create Side Lead (Right Side Lead for Leads, Left Side Lead for Follows)

Hesitation (SSS+ S from Feather Step)

  • 4 Slows in a row including the first step of the Feather Step
  • To slow down, move feet first then move body

Rumba

Routine

  • Fan
  • Hockey Stick
  • Cuban Rocks
  • Back Walks
  • Forward Walks
  • Alemana (Underarm) Turn
  • Side Steps
  • Cucarachas
  • Side Steps

Forward and Backward Walks

  • Committed Weight Transfer every step
  • Make sure to Push from ball of foot to next ball of foot

Basic Actions

  • When pushing, use Leg to move Body, not hip across
  • Hip will gradually come across and settle to prepare for the next movement

Isolations and Flexibility

  • Feet out and in
  • Thighs out and in
  • Hips side to side
  • Hips twist
  • Ribs side to side
  • Ribs twist
  • Arms opposing hips
  • Head freedom especially stretching up
